Tannbichl chapel circuit

Tannbichl chapel circuit

Description

Starting from the hiking starting point Going center (former tourist information Going) (764 m), this trail leads you along the Auweg along the Goinger Hausbach stream, past the Blattlhof farm, to the Blattl chapel.
The small niche chapel has a shingle-covered gabled roof and was built in the 18th century.

After a short stop at this little chapel, keep to the right and follow the road towards Going. After 100m, turn left and hike a short distance across the meadow after the houses and continue to the right somewhat steeper uphill through the forest.

Continue in the direction of our former sports field. Shortly before it, turn left onto the meadow path and follow it further to the right, along an avenue of trees to Schwendterdörfl. Arriving at the rustic farms, trail no 3 (asphalted path that turns into a forest path) leads you further uphill in the direction of Wilder Kaiser until you cross the Kaiserweg.

Turn left and follow the forest path until you reach the Tannbichl chapel.
The chapel, built around the middle of the 19th century, is located directly on the path to the Wilder Kaiser and is a mountaineering chapel in memory of the mountaineers who died in accidents.

After a stop, hike back along the path until you reach the second junction Pramaweg/Kaiserweg and turn right. Pass some houses and continue walking downhill. Back down then turn left into the Kapellenweg and you reach the Prama chapel, which dates back to the 16th century. The founders of this chapel at the time were miners from the copper and silver mine at Rerobichl (between Going and Oberndorf) who lived here.

The tour continues along the Kapellenweg until you reach a fountain at a crossroads. This fountain is a reminder of the miner’s time. Follow the Aschauerweg to the right until you reach the Stanglwirt. Once there, an underpass leads you to the other side of the road, where you can walk along a footpath next to the Going creek which leads you to the fire station. Continue straight ahead, cross the small bridge and follow the Dorfstraße until you reach the Dorfwirt, where you can see the the Dorfwirt chapel.
The small chapel next to the village inn was built in the middle of the 17th century. As a special feature is the iron offering box inside, which dates back to the time of its construction, as donations can also made from the outside.

Opposite the Dorfwirt, turn left over the bridge towards the village square until you reach the church. Here you can visit the Ölberg chapel at the cemetery. This small late baroque building was erected in 1826,

Cross the church square and follow the road until you reach your starting point.
