"Autumn is winter's spring." So said the French painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. You might easily think he had been inspired by autumn on the Wilder Kaiser. After all, the Kaiser autumn in the four villages of the Kaiser region, Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll is like a journey to new worlds: unimaginable experiences, culinary feasts, Mountain Doctor weeks and lots more.
Nights get longer in Autumn. Yet another reason to live each day to the fullest! Small wonder that at the Wilder Kaiser, numerous excursion destinations, mountain inns and lifts are open until the end of October. Enjoy a variety of events such as the Musikherbst, the brass band festival, or the Almabtrieb week when the cow’s descend into the valley.
Whether spring or autumn, Mother Nature knows how to showcase her most beautiful side. During these times, hikers can marvel at the picturesque Alpine panorama during extended hikes. Our tip: so that nothing dampens the mood, it's best to choose a hike that keeps you in the sunshine and doesn't venture too high.
