Kleiner Pölven summit from Steintal

Kleiner Pölven summit from Steintal

Description

From the Steintal hiking starting point, follow the signs to Hochfilzer / Söll. At the Klammerhof junction, turn left and follow the asphalt road until you reach the forest road. Follow this until you reach the next signpost. Here you continue to the right on the forest road to the unmanaged Reiteralm.
Continue along the forest road and then on a winding path until you reach a turnstile at the upper end of the alpine pasture. From here you head back into the forest, over wooden steps and a steep climb to the first rope insurance.
The path leads across to the right and then back to the left, where there is another short, steep passage with rope insurance. The terrain gradually flattens out and you reach the fork between the Kleiner and Großer Pölven on a hilltop.
Here you follow the path on a ridge through the forest to the right in an easterly direction. Passing another sign with a saying, you reach the summit of the Kleiner Pölven, where you can soon see the "Söller Kreuz" with a cozy viewing bench and a view of the Hohe Salve. Towards the south-east, a magnificent view opens up into the valley of the entire "Sölllandl", flanked by the Wilder Kaiser.
If you still haven't had enough, you can hike back along the Kleiner Pölven plateau to the "Schwoicher Kreuz" - here you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Kaiser Mountains and the Hintersteiner See.
Return to the valley, to the starting point at Steintal, via the same route.
