The Gruberhof
A tour of the Mountain Doctor’s home on the Bromberg mountain
#evenbetterinreality
The Gruberhof farm is located on the sunny side of the Bromberg mountain in Söll, at an altitude of about 1,000 metres. In the series, it is the alpine farm of the Mountain Doctor’s parents and home to Martin Gruber himself, his mother and his daughter Lilli. When the Bergdoktor team and the film crews are away, the farm is called Hof Köpfing and is owned and run by the Mayr family.
The farm, its panoramic breakfast terrace and the spectacular view of the entire Kaiser mountain range and the Hohe Salve are an iconic part of the popular drama.
In order to maintain the privacy of the farm residents, you can register online and at the Söll Tourist Info for a guided tour by tractor to the "Grubers'" home. If the tractor tours are fully booked, you can also reach the farm on foot (without pre-booking) - please note the opening hours!
The film location “Gruberhof” is on winter break until May 2025 and can therefore not be visited!
The road up to the Gruberhof is a private road. Access with buses and cars is not possible. We therefore ask you to park at the signposted "Bergdoktorparkplatz" next to the roundabout in Söll. From there you can reach the farm on foot in about 1,5 hours walking time uphill. Alternatively, you can also book a tractor ride to the Gruberhof.
Tip: Use the KaiserJet for a comfortable and environmentally friendly journey to the mountain railway in Söll. You can find the timetable here.
