The hike starts in the centre of Scheffau at the tourist info. Firstly, you walk downhill on the asphalt road until you reach the Trattenbach bridge at the s-shaped bend. From there, follow the signs in the direction of Ellmau. Walk over a small hill past the Trattenbachhof farm and continue along a field path. Enjoy the view of the surrounding landscape and the Wilder Kaiser mountains. Passing the settlements of Niederachen, Horngach and Auwald, you reach the Kaiserbad Ellmau. The route continues along an avenue road through the golf course to the Ellmau Bauhof/Dorf bus stop. From there, the bus takes you back to Scheffau. Before you start your return journey, we recommend a walk through the village of Ellmau, where a few restaurants, shops and souvenir shops invite you to linger and take a stroll.

The hike can of course also be done in the opposite direction from Ellmau to Scheffau.
