Biathon Hochfilzen

In the winter months, PillerseeTal is (almost) solely about Biathlon – it's no wonder, since everything here revolves around this prestigious sport!

Each year in December the Biathlon World Cup takes place in Hochfilzen. The town of Hochfilzen which is situated at 1000m sea level was already three times venue of the biathlon world championships, namely in 1978, 2005 and 2017. The breath-taking atmosphere will also be a matter of course at this year's World Cup. For years Hochfilzen has developed a splendid reputation as a World Championship venue and its technically demanding World Championship route certainly keeps bringing biathletes back to Hochfilzen.
