Current information

Due to the poor snow situation, the Astbergbahn and the Going ski area will be closed from 06th March 2024 on, and with this the tobogganing run in Going as well.

Closed today - open from 15.12.2024

Marchstraße 53, Going am Wilden Kaiser

Description

The Astbergbahn chairlift takes you comfortably to the start of the toboggan run. You can reach the start also on foot, passing the parish church of Ellmau and the district Kirchbichl in about 1.5 hours. A cab can also take you up to the Start. You can rent a toboggan in all sports stores in the valley, or directly behind the Astbergbahn valley station. The tobogganing fun then starts right next to the chairlift on the mountain. The track leads back to the valley station of the Astbergbahn, but you can also turn left on the way and get directly to Ellmau (to the Hotel Der Bär).

The toboggan run is 4,5 km long, a medium downhill run suitable for families (the first steeper part can be bypassed via the Brenneralm). The descent takes about 20-25 minutes.

Day tobogganing: Open daily from 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.
Night tobogganing: Wednesday until Sunday 06:30 p.m. to 09:30 p.m.

Attention: From 05:00 p.m. to 09.30 p.m. & 00:00 midnight to 08:00 a.m. the tobogganing run is closed due to preparation works!

Ascent with the Astbergbahn: Daily from 08:00 to 04:00 p.m.

Note: No day/week or season tickets are valid in the evening. In the evening, you pay an extra mountain/season ticket for tobogganing.

Cosy places to stop for refreshments such as the jezz AlmResort Ellmau - ehem. Brenneralm or Treichlhof on the mountain, or the Koasa Hüttn in the valley, provide an atmospheric toboggan evening.
