Föhrenhof in Ellmau
There are two shooting locations for the film guesthouse "Wilder Kaiser": the outdoor photos come from the old Dorfkrämerhaus at the village square in Going and the indoor photos were taken in the renowned restaurant Föhrenhof in the Ellmau district of Auwald. Föhrenhof is an inside tip for gourmets since its construction in 1967 by Eduard and Annemarie Told. The restaurant is the heart of the family business, of which a hotel with 40 beds is now a part and that is now managed by the sons, Robert and Ewald Told. What makes the family-managed Föhrenhof in Ellmau so special is the excellent cooking that has remained the same for more than 40 years now, but also an ambiance that makes one feel comfortable. It is no wonder that the Bergdoktor proprietor Susanne Dreiseitl, played by Natalie O’Hara, feels so comfortable in Föhrenhof.
