1. Can residents, accommodation providers, second-home owners and employees in tourism also travel free of charge by public bus?
All persons who have a permanent main or secondary residence in the region and who can therefore (theoretically) make use of the VVT’s 365 day offer, are not covered by the carriage regulation. This applies to all residents and thus also to accommodation providers. VVT monthly passes have been available at every tourist information office since June 2019. All BürgerCard (ResidentCard), FreizeitwohnsitzCard (HolidayHomeCard) or StaffCard holders can borrow these passes free of charge up to 10 times a year and thus make use of the public transport system throughout Tirol! This offer is 100% financed by the tourist board.
2. I don't have a smartphone. Can I still take the bus from the train station to the region free of charge?
Yes, the Wilder Kaiser guest card can be sent by email in advance and printed out at home.
3. My accommodation provider cannot or does not want to send me the Wilder Kaiser guest card in advance by email or to my mobile phone. What are my options?
In this case, you unfortunately cannot take advantage of the free bus journey and have to buy a regular ticket. Alternatively, you can use the Wilder Kaiser train station shuttle, which will take you directly to your accommodation for €15 per person. On the day of departure, you can use the bus to arrive back to the departure station free of charge with your guest card.
4. Can the accommodation provider send me the guest card in advance by post?
Unfortunately, it is not possible for the accommodation provider to issue a physical guest card before check-in.
5. I have a guest card and would like to take a day trip from Ellmau, Going, Scheffau or Söll to Innsbruck by bus and train. Do I have to pay full price?
In this instance, you can take the bus to Wörgl free of charge. From here you only have to buy a train ticket from Wörgl to Innsbruck (buy at the counter, ticket.vvt.at or from the bus driver).
